    SALKANTAY TREK, also known as the Company in this document, wants you to enjoy your vacation in Peru to the fullest, so we recommend you to read carefully and obey the instructions of your sales agent.

    Salkantay trek is considered one of the safest agencies in Peru.
    Please read the following conditions carefully, as it is your contract with SALKANTAY TREK , by booking a trip you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, which describe, among other things, our cancellation policy and certain limitations of liability at the time of booking.

    The quotation given by us will be valid once the booking is confirmed, from which time you will be able to ask all questions regarding your vacation, the travel agency will be happy to answer all questions for you. Quotes do not apply to international flights to and from Peru. If you want us to assist you on international flights or flights within Peru, the flight must be paid immediately and purchased on the same day or, if possible the next day to ensure the validity of the offer, as prices vary from day to day.

    Our prices do not include meals not specified in your itinerary, personal expenses, personal insurance, and luggage transportation.

    1.THE CONTRACT

    The contract is between the Travel Agency (also known as the company) and the client, who is the person traveling or intending to travel on a tour operated by the company. You, the client are subject to have read and understood our travel policy as stated below. By making a reservation by telephone, or through the website, or by email, you accept and are bound by these Terms and Conditions.

    These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the Company and the Customer relating to the subject matter herein, and shall constitute a binding agreement. There is no oral or written representation, warranty, guarantee agreement, prior agreement, description of services, or conditions or any promise of reimbursement other than as expressed herein. The service to be provided is/are the tour(s) mentioned in the booking confirmation.

    These conditions only apply to the services in our program and not to international and domestic flights. These are subject to the conditions imposed by the airlines.

    2. SECURING YOUR RESERVATION

    To secure your reservation, the Travel Agency requires a completed reservation form (either the one on our website or the one sent by us with your quotation), together with the payment of the necessary deposit. The prudent time to make your reservation is at least 30 days before your trip to Peru, a reservation is accepted and becomes definite only from the date on which your deposit is made and at that moment a contract exists.

    3. CLIENT’S INFORMATION

    In order to confirm and guarantee to the Clients the organization of the trip the client must provide all his identity data with the initial payment at the moment of making the reservation either through the web page or with the sales agent.

    We will send an online check-in to provide us with the data of all the participants, this is very important to make the hotel reservations and ticket purchase etc. Also migraciónes will ask us for this information to validate data and your statistics of visitors to our Country.

    • Date of birth,

    • International flight information and nationality
    • Medical form (in case any special attention is required),

    4. FINAL PAYMENT / SURCHARGES

    In order for the company to be able to confirm and guarantee to the Clients their travel arrangements, the client must provide all client data with FINAL PAYMENT at the beginning of the Tour.

    Surcharges: To avoid surcharges on your vacation make your reservation in advance, do not change your hotel at the last minute.

    5. IF YOU CHANGE YOUR RESERVATION

    An administration fee of US$50 per person will be charged if the confirmed reservation is changed or transferred to a different departure date or tour, up to 30 days prior to your trip. Thereafter all changes will be treated as cancellations and subject to charges as follows.

    If a client is not able to travel, and mentions us about 20 days in advance, in circumstances that we consider reasonable, then the reservation may be transferred to another suitable person, or your money will be refunded minus 30% of your advance payment as 10% goes to money transfer payments and the other 10% are administrative costs. There are some tickets such as Machu Picchu entrance fees, there is no refund and trains charge us a penalty,

    Your money will be returned in less than 30 days assuming your transaction charges.

    6. CHANGES

    The company reserves the right to change any of the facilities, services or prices described in the brochure or website. If such a change is made, the client will be informed at the time of booking or when the change occurs. While the Company will endeavor to operate all tours as advertised, reasonable changes to the itinerary may be made when deemed necessary or advisable by the Company due to external factors beyond the Company’s control.

    7. CANCELLATION POLICY – RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL

    Confirmed reservations will have a cancellation policy in the following terms:

    • Cancellations or changes to paid reservations have a penalty of 30% of the total value of the package and will be made within a maximum of 30 calendar days after receipt of the request.
    • Cancellations or changes between 8 and 1 day before the departure date have a penalty of 100% of the total value of the package.
    • If there are incidents such as Pandemic, it will be rescheduled for another date without any additional cost.
    • The air tickets of commercial airlines or charter flights included in the reservation are non-refundable, in case of cancellation the flights will remain in the name of the reservation takers who may use the tickets in a period of 1 year, paying the penalties and rate changes that may occur at the time of use.

    8. COMPLAINTS

    If the client has a complaint about any of the tour arrangements, it is a condition of the contract that they tell our local representative at that time.

    If they do not complain at that time, if they later deny us the opportunity to investigate and rectify the problem and so do we cannot accept any liability whatsoever.

    If the customer has a dispute with the Travel Agency and cannot resolve it, please write to us within 7 days of your return and we will investigate further to give you a solution.

    9. MEDICAL FORM

    For insurance purposes all clients are required to complete our medical form, which must be signed and dated by a practicing physician (if there are pre-existing conditions) and sent to us no later than 15 days prior to the start of your trip.

    10. FINANCIAL SECURITY

    Our Travel Agency is accredited by the Ministry of Tourism and registered with the Peruvian Tourist Office.
    The Travel Agency complies with the European standards in force regarding the protection of the client’s money.

    11. OUR RESPONSIBILITIES

    Reservations are accepted on the understanding that they appreciate the possible risks inherent in adventure travel and that they undertake the visits, excursions or expeditions, listed in our programs, at their own will. It is also important to understand that the most meticulous arrangements can go wrong.

    The company is obliged to provide its services with the necessary diligence, so that the whole trip goes perfectly, we will do our best to take care of you as well as possible.

    The Company assumes no responsibility for force majeure, climatic phenomena or natural phenomena which may occur before or during the trip, or for any eventuality which may make any trip uncomfortable or difficult, or for any delay or obstruction of your trip in any way and does not guarantee failure on the part of the Company either for the total or partial performance of the provision of the services which the Company has undertaken to provide which may have been affected by the aforementioned factors.

    12. FLIGHTS / DELAYS

    We cannot accept any liability for cancellations or delays to any of your flights, whether the cancellation or delay is due to adverse weather conditions, rescheduling by the airline, airport authority and/or the action of air traffic controllers, mechanical failure or industrial action.

    Our company will endeavor to arrange your travel itinerary, and that all inconveniences will be resolved and nothing will be affected by air delays.
    The Customer must understand and be flexible if due to air delays the problems cannot be solved.

    13. CHILDREN POLICY

    In all programs, unless otherwise indicated, the maximum age of a child is 3 – 10 years old. Children over 11 years of age are considered students and 18 years of age are considered adults.

    14. LAST MINUTE RESERVATIONS

    For all reservations made within 10 days of departure, there will be a USD $50.00 fee charged to the file. This Last Minute fee covers our additional costs for Hotel suppliers, Train Ticket, Bus Ticket and operating expenses.
