    Day 1: Cusco – KM 104 – Chachabamba – Wiñay Wayna – Puerta del Sol (Inti Punku) – Machu Picchu – Cusco – Inca Trail

    Travel the original Inca Trail through magnificent landscapes surrounded by gigantic mountains and lush vegetation. Explore Inca archaeological sites and get your first view of Machu Picchu before spending the night in Aguas Calientes.

    Day 02: Aguas Calientes | Machu Picchu – Ollantaytambo – Cusco

    Explore the magical Machu Picchu with your guide and learn its secrets before returning to Aguas Calientes. Then, you will board the train to Ollantaytambo, from where our private transportation will be waiting for you to return to Cusco.

    COMPLETE TRIP ITINERARY

    Cusco (3,400 masl): Pick up from hotel and transfer to Ollantaytambo, then we board the train and go to Km.104.

    Ollantaytambo Station (2,870 masl): At this point we will take the Expedition train to our starting point which is called KM 104 «Chacha bamba».

    Km 104 Chacha bamba (2,100 masl): At the starting point you have to show your Inca Trail permit, your original passport, and your ISIC card if you have one. It is here where the Inca Trail begins and we will start walking for 3.5 to 4 hours to Wiñayhuayna, where we will enjoy a good snack. The hike to Wiñayhuayna is a beautiful walk, where we can enjoy the amazing flora and scenery that surrounds us.

    Inti Punku (2,700 masl): After lunch we will hike an additional two hours to Intipunku «Sun Gate», from where we will have excellent views of Machu Picchu and all the surrounding mountains. Here we will have about 20 minutes to rest and contemplate the beautiful scenery.

    Machu Picchu (2,430 masl): Afterwards we will transfer to the lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu.

    Aguas Calientes and Camp (2,040 masl): We will then take the 20-minute bus ride to the Puente Ruinas camp. When you arrive at the camp, your tents will be ready. You will meet your porters again and enjoy a happy hour with hot drinks and dinner. Later in the evening, we will have a small ceremony with your chef and porters as it is your last night with them. They will still be there the next morning to prepare breakfast and for a nice farewell.

    Machu Picchu: On this last day we will have breakfast at 5:00 a.m. at the hotel and then head to our bus that will take us to Machu Picchu Citadel.

    To enter you will also have to show your passport, entrance ticket and ISIC card, if you have one. Afterwards you will have a guided tour for about 2 hours visiting the different ruins and temples. After the visit you will have free time to explore the city, and take as many pictures as you wish.

    After having enjoyed the magnificent city of the Incas you will use the bus ticket to go down to Aguas Calientes and then take the train back to Cusco via Ollantaytambo. The «Expedition Train» leaves at 6:30 pm and arrives in Ollantaytambo after 2 hours. In Ollantaytambo there will be a bus waiting to take you back to Cusco. Here your trip will end around 10:30 in the evening.

    Extras for your 2-Day Inca Trail:

    • Huayna Picchu (Young Mountain): Huayna Picchu is the mountain located on the northern side of Machu Picchu. To reach the summit, you will need to hike for 45 minutes. The hike begins in a dense forest and involves climbing stairs, which can be challenging for those who are afraid of heights. However, if you are not afraid of heights, you can do it after your tour of Machu Picchu. The additional cost is $75.
    • Reservations should be made at least one month in advance due to the popularity of this site. Lastly, we ask for your understanding regarding the weather in the area, which is completely beyond our control.
