The 2-day Colorful Mountain tour is an isolated hike through the communities to coexist in with the local people who still maintain the Quechua culture, we will observe herds of llamas, alpacas, huanacos and sheep and diversity of wildlife. When we arrive to the mountain we will see the variety of natural colors that it possesses, it would be an unforgettable experience.
Your day starts in Cusco where you are picked up at 5:00 am for a 4 hour trip by private van to the beginning of the trail, on the way we make a stop in the village of Checcacupe to enjoy the ancient Inca / Colonial bridge, then we arrive to Qesiuno 4,326 m / 14,189 ft.
We will start our hike to Hampatuyoc (1 % hour hike to the lunch area). After approximately 3 and a half hours walking up, we arrive at Pampa camp 4,885 m / 16,026 ft. We will have afternoon tea and popcorn near a glacial peak and the Rainbow mountain range.
After a great breakfast we are ready to leave our camp and start our trek. We will climb to Arapa Pass (4,850 m / 15,908 ft). From this viewpoint we will enjoy the contrast between the dry desert like hills and the impressive snow covered views of Ausangate and Pucacocha. This area also has three beautiful lakes with shades of red, green and turquoise (Pucacocha, Hatun Pucacocha and Qomercocha). Our second camp is near the Ausangate glacier.
