This alternative route is lighter and less strenuous for travelers avid for spectacular scenery, and best of all, without having to fight for a photo. Take advantage and join this one-day experience; melt your big smile with the colors of Palccoyo in a hike that will make you feel unique on the planet. In this guided tour you will visit Checacupe, known for its three bridges: Inca, colonial and republican. You will hike for only an hour and a half to see the three famous colorful mountains of Palccoyo. Then, you will ascend at your own pace up to 4,900 meters to admire the sacred snow-capped Ausangate, considered the highest in Cusco. In addition, you will feel that indescribable tranquility experiencing the unique silence of the Vilcanota mountain range, at the same time that you walk through the beautiful stone forest. Take a getaway and don’t miss this trip full of history, culture and nature.

    SHORT ITINERARY

    • 5:00 AM Pick up from your hotel in our private van and transfer to the trailhead.
    • 7:00 AM breakfast in our restaurant at the trailhead.
    • The hike takes approximately 1.5 hours along a trail that climbs through a desert valley, with full view of the glaciers.
    • The hike back downhill to the parking place where our vehicle is located takes about 1 hour.
    • 12:30 PM a buffet lunch will be served in our restaurant.
    • After lunch, we take our van back to Cusco.
    • The tour will end in Cusco around 4 pm with the transfer to your hotel.

    Itinerary

    ITINERARY OF THE TRIP

    Our tour begins with the pick up at your hotel at 5am, as agreed, and then head south of Cusco. It will be a 1 hour and a half drive to the restaurant to have our country breakfast.

    Then we will continue with the trip to the valley of Combapata and take the road that leads you to the Cordillera de Palccoyo for a trip of 2 hours, we will make a stop at the colonial bridge of CHECACUPE. Our hike begins at the end of the road or bus station to the mountains of colors; will be a moderate walk of 50 minutes over 4600m high, there we will appreciate different mountain ranges and the stone forest (optional climb) on the same route.

    Then we will return to our transportation and a 2 hour trip to the restaurant and have a buffet lunch. Then we will be returning to Cusco at approximately 6pm.
